Background:  Matt is the Executive Director of NAFCM: the National Association for Community Mediation. He previous served as the Director of the Volunteers of America, Dispute Resolution Center serving the Greater Seattle area. 
 
Matt's most recent role was the director of the Volunteers of America Dispute Resolution Center in Western Washington where he grew the program budget from $300,000 to over $1 million annually.  He was also the Chair-person for the Resolution Washington state-wide legislative committee that was involved in raising over $12 million for conflict resolution in Washington State.  In addition to his entrepreneurial and innovative fundraising skills, Matt has strong member relations skills, is very knowledgeable about community mediation and has vast skills which he will utilize to serve NAFCM member needs.
 
Matt received his law degree from the University of California-Hastings College of the Law and was a 3-time All Big Ten Scholar-Athlete as a member of Michigan State University's varsity soccer team.

Samuel "Joe" Brummer

Background: Joe is currently the Associate Executive Director of Community Mediation, Inc. in Hamden, Connecticut.

Joe Brummer has presented workshops in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Pennsylvania. He has presented at Southern Connecticut State University, the University of New Haven, Quinnipiac University, Brown University and a number of national health education conferences. He has clocked hundreds of hours at the mediation table facilitating in a wide variety of areas. Joe was trained as a mediator at the Community Mediation Center of RI and served on their Juvenile Restorative Justice Advisory Board.
 
Elaine M. Dickhoner

Diane Featherstone

Background: Diane is currently the Executive Director of the Dispute Resolution Center in Montgomery County, Texas.

Diane Featherstone has supported various organizations in Montgomery County for many years. The Dispute Resolution Center has provided mediation services and training to the community for over 24 years and continues to grow and change to meet community needs. Diane enjoys playing a role in offering an opportunity for others to understand and experience the process of resolution.

Background: Gabrielle is currently the Executive Director of Resolution Works in Denver, Colorado. 

S. Gabrielle has worked in mediation and conflict resolution since 1990.  She currently runs a non-profit Community Mediation and Restorative Justice Center called Resolution Works.  She also is an adjunct professor at the University of Denver teaching ADR courses including Mediation, Negotiation, Conflict Theory, Restorative Justice, and Facilitation.  Gabrielle lives in the Denver metro area and is most enthusiastic about new people, new situations and walking the path of life's challenges while learning from others and how they handle conflict differently and effectively.

Background: Brad is currently the CEO of the New York Peace Institute in New York, New York.

Brad Heckman is an Adjunct Professor at New York University's Center for Global Affairs. Previously, he served as Vice President of Safe Horizon, where he oversaw the agency's Anti-Trafficking, Batterer Intervention, Legal Services, Families of Homicide Victims, and Anti-Stalking Programs. He's the former International Director of Partners for Democratic Change, for which he helped establish the first mediation centers in the former Soviet Bloc. He holds an MA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. Brad is also a founding board member of the New York City Peace Museum.


Laura Jeffords

Background: Laura is currently the Executive Director of the Mediation Center in Asheville, North Carolina.

Laura Jeffords oversees the Mediation Center in the Western North Carolina mountains serving Buncombe, Henderson, Transylvania and Polk Counties. She has been on the Mediation Center's staff since 2006 and been trained in Community, Superior Court, Medicaid, and Re-entry mediation. She has a Master's in Public Administration from Western Carolina University with an emphasis on nonprofit management. Day to day, Laura is responsible for the strategic planning, finances, grant writing, fundraising, human resources, and public relations of the Mediation Center. The Mediation Center was founded in 1983 to support youth, families and community members in creating opportunity from conflict.



Daniel Kos

Background: Daniel is currently a Management Analyst with the New York State Unified Court System's Office of ADR and Court Improvement Programs.

Daniel Kos works for NYS Unified Court System, where he helps oversee a network of community mediation centers serving all 62 counties of New York. Each year this network, the largest in the country, provides services in more than 30,000 cases. As part of overseeing the network, Dan partners with nonprofit agencies in program development, organizational development capacity building, and mediation quality assurance. He also is the statewide ADR training coordinator and oversees the NYS Agricultural Mediation Program. Dan regularly delivers mediation, facilitation, and negotiation training in New York and presents at local and national conferences. He currently advances the use of community mediation nationally by serving on the board of the National Association for Community Mediation.


 
Jim Lingl

Background: Jim is currently a Board member of the Ventura Center for Dispute Settlement in Camarillo, California.

Jim Lingl is a mediator/attorney licensed in California and Wisconsin. He is a former Board President and current Board Member at the Ventura Center for Dispute Settlement. He is also a Board Member and Executive Director of the Center for Public Dispute Mediation. He is a former Board Member of the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA), as well as the former Director of Operations for Mediators Beyond Borders (MBB). Jim is currently the principal with Lingl ADRS, a private mediation service in Southern California.




D.G. Mawn

Background: DG serves as senior consultant through Intuitive Synergies for Community Systems Investments International in Louisville Kentucky.

DG Mawn is an attorney licensed in Illinois and Kentucky.  He received his mediation training in 2000.  He co-developed Cultural IntuitivenessTM and presently provides consultation and coaching to state, public and community-based organizations on human services/system development and effectiveness, leadership development, strategic planning and communication, cultural intuitiveness, sustainability and evaluation.  The area of focus have been HIV/AIDS, early childhool development, cultural competency, substance abuse and sustainability within both community-based and governmental rubrics.  Through-out his work has been appreciated and strengthened through the use of empathetic practices leading to the creation of measurable and sustainable positive outcomes.

Background: Steffanie is currently the Director of Creative Mediation in San Luis Obispo, California. 

 
Steffanie Medina is the Director of Creative Mediation at Wilshire Community Services where she practices family mediation, teaches basic and advanced mediation courses, and manages Creative Mediation's programs, volunteer mediators, and professional staff.  Steffanie received a Bachelor's of Psychology and a Masters of Educational Counseling at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  She is trained in a variety of specialized mediation area including Elder Mediation, Juvenile Dependency Mediation, and Civil Harassment Mediation. She currently sits on the Panel of Elders for the Bakari Mentoring Program for youth offenders and is a voting member of the Student Liaison Committee of San Luis Obispo



Kelly Riley

Background: Kelly is the Executive Director of the Nebraska Mediation Association in Eagle, Nebraska.

Kelly Riley currently manages all functions the Nebraska Mediation Association (NMA). NMA is a state-wide member association and training institute. In 2003 she started with Nebraska Mediation Center Association (NMCA), an association of the six regional community mediation centers in Nebraska and has continued through the reorganization to NMA in 2010.

Kelly has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources, and is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). She has been trained in basic and family mediation, and her favorite types of cases are employment and small claims.




Malcolm D. White

Background: Malcolm is currently a Senior Mediation Specialist at the Clark County Neighborhood Justice Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Since 1999 Malcolm D. White has worked as a Senior Mediation Specialist for the Neighborhood Justice Center where he helps bring peace to the community through the promotion of mediation as a first choice for dispute resolution.  Malcolm is trained in EEO mediations by the EEOC, Postal REDRESS mediation, and accredited through the Neighborhood Justice Center in mediation.  The Mediators of Southern Nevada honored Malcolm in 2008 as Peace Maker of the year for his diverse work in the field of conflict resolution.
