ACR’s Environment and Public Policy Section will “open up” our annual conference by using the dynamic meeting method of Open Space Technology to actively involve all participants in sharing their knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm. We’ve always encouraged conference panels that involve attendees. This year we dig deeper and walk our talk.

On June 7-8 we’ll take what we all like best about conferences – the informal meet ups, hallway chats, and coffee conversations with interesting colleagues – and create that experience for the entire conference. Our keynote speaker, Howard Bellman will provide an experience you won’t want to miss: Mediation and All That Jazz. Lori Lewis, EPA’s Open Space Technology trainer and facilitator will guide us through the process of Open Space and will teach us how to use it in our own work. Together we will be opening space for those deliberate and mindful discussions without having to slip away into the interstices of breaks and evenings.

The conference is being held in conjunction with the University of Texas Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution, in the heart of Austin, TX and convenient to its great food, music, and outdoor activities.
