Mediation skills can be applied within a wide variety of situations: an employee dispute, a community controversy or a quarrel between family members. The mediator acts as an impartial third party to facilitate communication between the disputants and to support them in reaching their own decisions. Presentations on the mediation process will be alternated with opportunities to practice the process through role plays. These role-plays will be supervised by experienced DSC mediators who will offer feedback and support.

When: Thursday and Friday, Nov 3rd and 4th, 2016 9:00 am 4:00 pm.
Where: OWASA Community Room, 400 Jones Ferry Road, Carrboro, NC, 27510
Fee: $295 ($285 early bird if paid by 10/20)

Instructors: Will Dudenhausen and Jenifer Yarnelle
