Since 1992, the Dispute Resolution Center has been helping Whatcom County (WA) be a community in which people deal with conflict in creative and healthy ways.  Today, Whatcom DRC is achieving this vision through its accessible mediation services serving 4,500 residents each year, an extensive annual schedule of nearly 150 adult and youth trainings in conflict and communication, a mediator certification program, volunteer opportunities resulting in over 4,000 donated hours, and creative public outreach. It's dedicated staff is continually engaging local residents through its newsletter, mailing list, Facebook, and Twitter accounts.  Over 97% of those it serves would recommend others to contact the DRC for their own conflicts. Featured Program - Gryphon Place (Kalamazoo, MI)

Dispute Resolution Services of Gryphon Place provides a peaceful way to resolve conflict for the nearly half million residents of Kalamazoo, Calhoun, and Barry Counties in Southwest Michigan. Offering community mediation, restorative justice, and training services, DRS works with dozens of local partners to ensure its services are thoroughly integrated into the local social service landscape.

Michigan's Office of Dispute Resolution reported the state's 20 community dispute resolution programs, including DRS, assisted over 36,000 individuals by facilitating over 7,000 resolutions.  DRS' own dedicated staff and cadre of over 40 adult and youth volunteer mediators help local residents resolve their own conflicts. The Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center serves neighbors and schools throughout San Antonio, Texas.  With a convenient online application for mediation services that averages 6,500 annual submissions, the Bexar County DRC makes accessing help supremely convenient.  Their free Amigos in Mediation (AIM) conflict training program for schools already serves 11 local districts.  And their Speakers Bureau works to ensure the broader community is well-informed about local, constructive conflict assistive services.
