NAFCM's New Directions
NAFCM: Your Voice, Your Passion, Your Impact
WELCOME TO THE NEW NAFCM!
For over fifteen years, the National Association for Community Mediation (NAFCM) has been committed to expanding the accessibility and reducing the barriers of public access to traditional and innovative forms of conflict resolution education, programming, and training. Nationwide and around the globe, NAFCM’s continual efforts on this front have helped countless individuals, organizations, and communities experiencing destructive conflict. Its initiatives have helped found and enhance hundreds of local community mediation centers, develop the skill sets of thousands of mediators, and earned it the distinction as the authority for the nation’s community mediation movement.
Now, we are pleased to introduce our valued members, supporters, and stakeholders to the renewed and reinvigorated NAFCM! NAFCM is recommitting itself with fresh verve to its core callings: Serving Our Members, Advancing Our Field, and Championing Our Valuable Movement.
You will experience NAFCM’s new electric energy through a number of exciting initiatives, including:
1. A New Executive Director! Justin R. Corbett has been appointed by the Board of Directors to lead NAFCM into its renaissance, securing NAFCM’s place as the unparalleled resource and clarion voice for the field of community mediation.
2. The Campaign to Connect! Board members have begun a campaign to personally connect with every current and recent NAFCM member. We want to hear how we can better serve you, discern in greater detail the transitions our field has undergone, and plan the most effectively positioning of NAFCM’s resources to benefit our shared movement.
3. Trainings Direct to You! NAFCM is updating its popular Regional Training Institute (RTI) materials and preparing them for an informative, interactive collection of web conferences. Available a la carte, or as a series culminating in NAFCM’s Certificate in Center Management, these convenient, affordable trainings will equip you with the latest insights, tools, and techniques to enhance your center.
4. Our Best Website Ever! This September, NAFCM will unveil its long-anticipated, redesigned website offering online access to a substantial collection of member, stakeholder, and public resources. With help from NAFCM’s new website, administering your center, connecting with colleagues, discovering new opportunities, and locating services will never have been easier.
5. An Active, Tireless Voice for You! NAFCM has always served as the national ‘Voice of Community Mediation,’ and our voice is about to get a lot more audible! When opportunities to promote community mediation emerge within the media, during legislative and policy decision-making, with funders, and as part of the broader advancement of our field, NAFCM will be there advocating for you, asking your questions, and raising your concerns. Our voice is your voice!
6. And Much, Much More! We’re just getting started! Join us and help us shape the bold new initiatives redefining NAFCM and benefiting the field we’re pleased to represent.
In addition to taking advantage of the exciting initiatives listed above, here’s how you can further benefit from NAFCM’s stirring energies:
