The Directory is a unique compilation, exclusively focused on community mediation programs and volunteer mediators who are members of NAFCM. It describes over 250 community mediation programs across the country. Community Mediation Center Self-Assessment Manual
Developed over the past two years, our quality assurance committee has looked at mediation quality as an ongoing project of self-reflection and analysis on the part of community mediation centers. This manual presents a range of questions, items for discussion, and resources intended to help centers determine for themselves what quality services really mean in their communities and contexts. Community Oriented Policing Curriculum (forthcoming)
Developed over the course of two years by NAFCM and the Bay Area Collaborative of mediation centers in Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco, CA, this curriculum shows how community mediation centers and community police can develop effective partnerships. Also included are training materials for teaching conflict resolution and facilitation skills to police officers, and materials on police-youth partnerships.

Face to Face: Presenters Manual
The Presenters manual is a condensed version of activities included in the Face to Face curriculum. It is designed as a tool to present a workshop on personal conflict and provides presenters with an entire workshop agenda that can be adapted to the needs of the group.

Face to Face: Resolving Conflict Without Giving In or Giving Up
Face to Face is a modular curriculum developed for NAFCM’s project to train AmeriCorps members. Module I addresses conflict at the personal level. Module II focuses on conflict at the interpersonal level. Module III provides concepts and tools to assist participants in working effectively and collaboratively intergroup and intragroup. A collection of articles on mediation practice and mediation center management, collected from NAFCM's quarterly newsletter The Community Mediator. Written by long-time practitioner Ben Carroll, these 2-4 page articles provide condensed tips, insights, and directions to further reading on topics ranging from learning styles to preventing volunteer burn-out.

The Visionaries Documentary
A two-part episode from the highly successful documentary series aired on PBS. Each part approximates 30 minutes. Narrated by actor Sam Waterston, this video profiles three community mediation programs and a representative case from each -- a victim/offender mediation, a race-relations dialogue group, and a multi-party land-use negotiation. An excellent introduction to community mediation for courts, police, and other agencies and groups. VHS approximately 1 hour.

"Creating a Safer Community: Community Mediation and Community Oriented Policing Partnerships"
This video is designed to showcase community oriented policing and community mediation center partnerships started by the Northern California Collaborative: Berkeley Dispute Resolution Service, Conciliation Forums of Oakland, Community Boards of San Francisco and their respective police departments. This video identifies the goals of these partnerships, partnership benefits, the use of mediation services and the use of conflict management/conflict resolution skills in community oriented policing. Law enforcement personnel, community mediation center staff and community members will find that the video is a promising resource for community oriented problem-solving. VHS 20 minutes.
