NAFCM HAS INTERNSHIP POSITIONS AVALAILABLE!!!
The National Association for Community Mediation (NAFCM) is on the look-out for candidates for under-grad/grad internships.
NAFCM, based in Washington, DC, is the only national organization dedicated to the promotion of community mediation across the country and supporting community mediation programs. Over 300 community mediation programs across the US have joined NAFCM, creating a network for information and resource sharing that strengthens the field.
NAFCM is continuing work on six major initiatives. They are:
- A series of regional training institutes to develop leadership and improve organizational operations in member centers.
- A mini-grant program to support a range of initiatives for member centers, including innovative projects and programs, center start-up assistance, and professional development scholarships.
- A quality assurance project to create voluntary self assessment and accreditation protocols for member centers.
- Policy research, analysis, and development to build the capacity of NAFCM and its member centers to initiate and respond successfully to national, state and local policies and legislation.
- Data collection to strengthen our understanding of the impact and potential of community mediation and to build our knowledge about the mechanics and principles of the field.
- Public relations, public education, and marketing strategy to create public awareness of community mediation and to assist centers in their outreach efforts.
The intern selected to work with NAFCM will perform a mixture of substantive research and writing projects, clerical tasks, and other duties in support of these initiatives and NAFCM's overall mission.
NAFCM staff strive to make internships truly productive and responsible positions. We are seeking an under-grad/grad student studying dispute resolution or a related field. The position is located at NAFCM's office in Washington, DC.
