The Four Agreements: A Solution for Peace

"Finding Solutions, Growing Peace" Brown Bag Lunch Series

The non-profit Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center hosts a free talk on August 16th as part of their “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace” Brown Bag Lunch Series. Talks are Third Thursdays from 12 noon to 1 pm in the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney at 655 Kilauea Avenue in Hilo.

This month’s speaker is Dennis Soares on the topic “The Four Agreements: A Solution for Peace.” “The Four Agreements, written by bestselling author Don Miguel Ruiz, reveals that self-limiting belief robs us of joy and creates needless suffering,” says Soares. “The message offers a powerful code of conduct that we can use to transform our lives to peace.” In this talk, learn what the four agreements are and how their use can create lasting peace and unity in our lives and communities.

Dennis Soares was born and raised in Honolulu. In 1972, he began his music career and relocated to northern California where he earned his master’s degree with teaching credentials. Soares married his wife, Christy, in 1989 and for 20 years taught during the day and played music by night. He moved back to Hawai‘i in 2004 and made the Big Island home. Soares is an ordained minister and regularly speaks and plays music throughout Hawai’i Island.

Ku‘ikahi’s Brown Bag Lunch Series is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch, enjoy an informal and educational talk-story session, and meet others interested in “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace.”
