All It Takes is a Nudge…Kindness as a Road to Peace

Hilo, Hawai‘i – November 2, 2018 – The non-profit Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center hosts a free talk on November 15 as part of their “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace” Brown Bag Lunch Series.  Talks are Third Thursdays from 12 noon to 1 pm in the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney at 655 Kilauea Avenue in Hilo.

This month’s speaker is Janet Dellaria, PhD on the topic “All It Takes is a Nudge: Kindness as a Road to Peace.”

“The Aesop saying ‘No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted,’ is the basis of this talk-story presentation,” says Dellaria.  “Together we’ll explore several facets of kindness and a quantum physics explanation of how and why it works.  Kindness is one of the roads to peace.”

In this talk, learn why kindness is so powerful, plus hear and share stories of acts of kindness given and received.

Janet Dellaria, PhD earned her doctorate in Leadership Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX.  She has a BA in Mathematics and a MLS in Library Science.  Her professional career centered around libraries in the university and private systems.  Dellaria spends her time between Hilo and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, art, and photography.

Ku‘ikahi’s Brown Bag Lunch Series is free and open to the public.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch, enjoy an informal and educational talk-story session, and meet others interested in “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace.”
