The non-profit Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center hosts a free talk on January 17th as part of their “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace” Brown Bag Lunch Series. Talks are Third Thursdays from 12 noon to 1 pm in the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney at 655 Kilauea Avenue in Hilo. This month’s speaker is Sylvia Kahalia Dolena on "Communication for Results: Principles to Produce Exceptional Outcomes”.

With a focus on "Finding Solutions, Growing Peace," this monthly lunch-and-learn series features interesting speakers discussing topics related to communication, dispute prevention and resolution, and transforming conflict.

This month's speaker is Sylvia Kahalia Dolena on "Communication for Results: Principles to Produce Exceptional Outcomes".

“Let’s explore three principles to increase your value production. This communication technology was developed by master communicators and used by successful global leaders,” says Dolena. “It has been taught and used by many Fortune 100 companies.”


In this talk, learn the critical listening skills to have your ideas understood, to create great collaborations, to quickly resolve problems, and to get results. 


Sylvia Kahalia Dolena worked for Hewlett-Packard (HP) for 18 years with 8 of those years as Global Programs and Operations Manager.  She has worked as an external business consultant with HP and other high-tech and retail companies like AMD and Best Buy.  Currently, Dolena delivers workshops and leadership development programs such as Dynamic Leadership Lab, Leading Business Systems, and Winning Edge for Women in Hawai‘i and nationally. 

Ku‘ikahi's Brown Bag Lunch Series is free and open to the public.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch, enjoy an informal and educational talk-story session, and meet others interested in "Finding Solutions, Growing Peace."
