EQUITY-INFORMED MEDIATION: Cont. Ed.

 

Equity-informed Mediation occurs when the mediator applies an equity framework to balance power and allow ALL participants to bring their full selves to the conversation.

 

Virtual Training

 

Prerequisite: 32 hour Basic Mediation Training

 

Equity Informed Mediation will help you to
-Create space for you and the parties to bring your full selves to the table
-Identify issues of equity in the multi-stage mediation process
-Utilize empathy and other active listening skills in all areas of life
-Analyze and respond to racial and other power / oppression dynamics
-Intervening when racial and other micro-aggressions occur in mediation

 

Dates:

 

Affinity Space for People of Color – Tuesday May 19th and June 2nd from 5:30-8:30pm
Learning Space for White people – Tuesday May 12th and May 26th from 5:30-8:30pm

 

Conflict is informed by personal bias as well as social and systemic influences. Approach your mediations with a deeper understanding and readiness to facilitate honest and meaningful dialogue across lines of  race, culture, gender and more.
