 Tools for Tough Conversations

A training series for past participants of conflict training programs, Tools for Tough Conversations provides practical tips on applying conflict deescalation and communication skills at home, work or in the community. Each supportive learning session is designed to refresh you on key conflict awareness and assertiveness skills and provides ample practice time using scenarios, worksheets and group learning activities, all with the help of trained mediators & facilitators.

Wednesday, July 8, 2020 - Learn to Listen Fully
Wednesday, July 29, 2020 - Explore Biases, Identify Opportunities for Inclusion
Tuesday, August 25, 2020 - Practice Speaking Up When it Matters Most
Wednesday, October 28, 2020 - Find Common Ground in Times of Difference
Tuesday, December 8, 2020 -   Prepare for and Respond to Stress and Conflict (for those who missed session 1 in February)
Tuesday, December 15, 2020 - Respond with Poise in Moments of Crisis

***All Courses in 2020 to be held Virtually from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.

Course Fee: $40 for a single class, $200 for the series
Cancellation Policy:  Cancellations made more than 4 weeks in advance of the first session are eligible for a full refund.  Cancellations made within 4 weeks of the first session, will not be eligible for a refund but may be able to transfer registration to a future training, pending space availability.

Prerequisite training: In order to register for a class within the Tools for Tough Conversations series, participants must have completed either the Understanding Conflict workshop, Professional Mediation Training, a different class taught by instructor Mary Dumas, or have a strong background in Conflict Resolution, Psychology, Mediation, Counseling, Peacemaking or International Relations.
