"One in ten children is a target of bullying.  Children who are bullied--whether physical, verbal, or psychological--are at greater risk of suffering from depression and other mental health problems," shares Dr. Takamine. "Bullying does not discriminate and it has no financial, cultural, or social boundaries." Learn about this serious community concern, and how to help educate and empower keiki to be "Bully Proof."

Sandra Takamine, PH.D., is the Hawai'i District School Psychologist with the Department of Education, and Martha Yamada, R.N., is the Hawai'i Island Department of Health Public Health Nursing Supervisor.  Both are members of the Hawai'i Island Anti Bullying Coalition (HI ABC).
