Global Town Hall: Pandemics and Peacebuilders

Dear friends, colleagues, and partners in peace,

Thank you for your participation and contributions to the Town Hall: Pandemics and Peacebuilders.

We are all clearly focused on braiding themes and building narratives of resilience and connection.

We are also focused on identifying how we might, as a field, step forward to reduce isolation at this time of physical separation, make the shifts from fear to hope at this time of uncertainty, counter nationalistic narratives with those of collaboration beyond all boundaries and among all the communities in which we live and work.

We recognize and thank each of you who have come together as partners in a spirit of true collaboration in the context of these early stages of a pandemic.

We also recognize and thank our organizational partners whose support is critical as we move forward. These initial organizational partners are: Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP), Humanity United, Peace Direct, Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC), National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD), Rotary International, Activate Labs, Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP), Pax Christi, and the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR).

We are enormously grateful for everyone’s participation, both individually and organizationally. The wealth of grace, wisdom, and experience each of you brought made this a moment of meaningful connection. While we were not able to accommodate all who wanted to participate in the Town Hall, we recognize and are inspired by your energy, interest, and commitment to come together and listen to each other. The registration and survey contributions of 314 people from 32 countries are in itself a testament to the need for us to continue.

And we will.

Please know that the post-Town Hall Survey will inform us in regrouping to plan the next steps. We are requesting that you fill out the survey, even if you only watched the recording so that we can plan responsively. Click here for the links to the Wednesday, March 18 Town Hall and the Thursday, March 19 Town Hall. Also, before the end of the month, you will receive the report of both surveys, resources suggested, and specific recommendations.

Many thanks to those of you who offered to help with notes, analysis and report writing.

We will be in touch with you.

Be safe and healthy,

The families of NAFCM and MBBI
DG Mawn, President of NAFCM
Prabha Sankaranarayan, President and CEO of MBBI
